how does the living library work?

+ the living library is a community project operated by an independent committee
+ it operates from the launceston library + online access centre or from other venues around Launceston(check `dates')
+ your participation is free of charge
+ the living library is open on a Friday or Saturday once a month from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm

how do i become a reader?

+ register as a reader on your first visit
+ there are loan guidelines for all readers to ensure your satisfaction
+ choose the living book you wish to 'read' from the living library catalogue
+ if someone else is 'reading' a living book you wish to read | then check when the living         book is next available & make a booking for them
+ living book loans are for 30 minutes & can be extended to 1 hour with the living book's         consent & if no one else is waiting for that living book
